Robert Lee Bays of Niles passed away unexpectedly at 8:27 a.m. on Saturday (11-29-14) in his residence. He was 31.
Mr. Bays was born October 23, 1983 in Warren, OH, a son of Gordon and Cindy Hilty Bays.
He attended Niles and Warren City School System.
Robert was a laborer for most of his life, mainly specializing in roofing for various local roofing companies, most recently he was employed at Legacy Roofing.
Mr. Bays was a member of Warren Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. Robert had a talent as a mechanic working on cars and lawn mowers.
Surviving are: his mother, Cindy and her husband Mark Foster of Niles; his father Gordon Bays of Orwell, OH; Maternal grandmother, Georgene Hilty of Niles; a sister, Darla King of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Keith Hawkes of Girard; and his companion Wendy Fassoulas and her son Noah of Niles. Robert is also survived by nieces and nephews Ethan, Logan, and Aleah and a half-sister and half-brother.
Robert was preceded in death by a son, Isiah Bays; a half-brother; maternal grandfather, Frank Hilty; and his paternal grandparents.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Warren Church of God with Rev. Steve Sespico. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will take place in Kerr Cemetery.
