Rita E. Hefner

Rita Elizabeth Hefner, 85, of Warren, died 8:20 AM Friday, October 7, 2005 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born April 28, 1920 in Akron, the daughter of Albert and Dora Elizabeth Weaver Haus, and had lived in the Warren area since 1947.

Rita was a terrific homemaker and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was active with the church's Craft Ladies, Altar Guild, Calling Committee, and the Happy Timers 55-plus Club. She had also served as a choir mother and as president of the Episcopal Church Women. Rita and husband Bob had also served as volunteers with Mobile Meals.

Rita will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert D. Hefner, whom she married October 26, 1946; two children, Robert J. (Robin) Hefner of Champion and Barbara J. Smith of Northfield; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Durnan of Stow and Jean Bronko of Cuyahoga Falls.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her brother, Albert Haus; and her grandson, Ryan Matthew Smith.

A memorial service for Rita will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Christ Episcopal Church, with Rev. Fr. Robert Winter officiating. Inurnment will take place in the church's columbarium. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday. Material contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483.
