Ricky L. Padovan, 58, of Champion, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 14, 1953 in Salem, the son of Hugo and Doris (Skjelver) Padovan, and had lived in Northeast Ohio all his life.
A graduate of Howland High School, Mr. Padovan was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and worked as a meter leader with Ohio Edison for forty years. He enjoyed bowling, golf, concerts, theater, and summer activities.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry (Jones) Padovan, whom he married November 17, 1973; two children, Christopher (Rebecca) of McDonald and Jessica Padovan of Champion; three grandchildren: Lindsay, Brendan, and Kaitlyn Padovan; his mother, Doris Padovan of Mentor; and a sister, Patricia Gale Padovan of Mentor. His father precedes him in death.
A memorial service will be conducted 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Oaks of First United Methodist Church in Warren officiating. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
