Warren - Richard E. Carty, 85 of Warren, OH, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 in Cleveland Clinic Hospital. He was born, October 19, 1924 in Warren, the son of the late James and Ethel (Scott) Carty.
He retired as a Laboratory Technician for Packard Electric GM Div. and also worked for McCardell-White Funeral Home while volunteering for St. Joseph's Hospital. He was avid Detroit Tiger and Lion Fan and Dale Earnhardt Sr. NASCAR devotee.
Mr. Carty was a proud World War II Army Veteran and served in the European Theater and was an honored member of the World War II Memorial in Washington DC.
Surviving is a daughter, Cathy J. Carty; of Champion. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dorothy Daley whom he married November 23, 1943 and Brothers John & Edward and Sister Virginia Carty.
Services will be held at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. William Sprague officiating. Calling hours are 6-8 PM Wednesday, May 26 and 9-10 AM Thursday May 27 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 N. Park Ave. Warren, OH. Interment will follow in the Champion Township Cemetery, where he will be buried will full military honors.
