Richard K. Brugler

WARREN - Richard K. Brugler, 85, passed away January 30, 2014 at Akron burn unit. He was born on October 28, 1928 in Warren, the son of the late H. Kenneth and Mildred (Fell) Brugler.

Richard was a 1946 graduate of Harding and received his Electrical and Mechanical Bachelor degree's from Case Institute of Technology. He was President and Chief Engineer at Heltzel Company where he was employed for 40 years before retiring in 1993. He then served as a consultant until 1999. He was a member of Old Erie Lodge #3 F&AM, Buckeye Club, and the Society of Professional Engineers. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for 50 years. He enjoyed ship model building and genealogy. Richard was a veteran of the US Navy.

Memories of Richard will be carried on by his wife, Jean E. (Brooks) Brugler of Warren, whom he married December 22, 1951; son, David (Rebecca) Brugler of Bristolville; daughter, Diane Sims of Lincoln, NE; son, Eric (Chris) Brugler of Warren; son, Kurt (Becky) Brugler of Champion; sister, Barbara Young of Howland; grandchildren: Benjamen (Theresa) Brugler, Sarah (Adam) Brugler-Lewis, Josh Sims, Jonathan (Barbra) Sims, Ashley (Chase) Holmes, Dane (Stephanie) Brugler, Kelsey Brugler, Erin Brugler, Claire Brugler, Meredith Brugler, Seth Brugler, Haley Brugler, Faith Brugler, Kreig (Sarah Moon) Brugler, Max (Leslie Papp) Brugler; great-grandchildren: Kendall Brugler, Leia Brugler, Brenna Holmes and Greyson Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Dillon.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at McFarland and Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave NW, Warren, OH 44485 with Rev. Glenn Hamilton officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna. Military honors will be presented by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.

His family suggests contributions be made in the form of donations to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd SW, Warren, OH 44481.
