Rena D. White

Rena DeVoe White, 94, of Warren, died at home Friday, April 11, 2008. She was born January 2, 1914 in Plymouth, Ohio, the daughter of Levi and Cecil (Tucker) DeVoe, and came to Warren in 1946 from Wellington, Ohio.

Mrs. White was a graduate of the School of Cosmetology. She worked for the Red Cross and in food service for Warren City Schools. A troop leader for the Girl Scouts, she was also a member of Christ Episcopal Church, its Altar Guild, and the Green Thumb Garden Club.

Surviving are her daughter, Laura Jean White of Warren, and Laura's special friend, Bill Abell of Warren. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Gordon R. White, whom she married December 8, 1945 and who died January 2, 1998; four sisters: Marlie Dunaway, Daisy Pennington, Treva Jones, and Margaret Bistline; and a brother, Sherman DeVoe.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in the chapel of Christ Episcopal Church, with Rev. Donna Maree officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church library. Material contributions may be made either to Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483, or the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483.
