Regina M (Mrofchak) Nickells-Powers

Regina “Gina” M. Nickells-Powers of Fowler, passed away on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital after an extended illness. She was 57.

Gina was born in Youngstown on December 27, 1960, the daughter of Paul and Audrey Augustine Mrofchak.

She was a 1979 graduate of Girard High School. Mrs. Powers was employed as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 17 years.

Gina was of Catholic Faith. She will always be remembered as a happy person with a positive outlook on life. She had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, she loved to hike and travel. Mrs. Powers liked listening to music and was very handy and talented with tools. Gina had a green thumb for flowers and gardening. Most importantly she loved her family and friends.

At the end Gina remained true to her core values and smiled as she said goodbye and entered heaven’s gates.

She is survived by her husband Patrick Powers, who she married February 17, 2018; her parents, Paul and Audrey Mrofchak; 3 children, Lee Nickells, Jennifer Conrad, and Adam Nickells; 2 sisters Maryanne and Loraine; 4 brothers, John, Paul, Christopher, and James; 2 grandchildren, Eli and Gracey. In addition she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Susan and Joe.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Stephens Church. A procession will leave the funeral home for mass at 12:30 p.m.
