R. Donald Whiteleather

WARREN - R. Donald Whiteleather, 87, died September 6, 2014 at his residence, Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. He was born November 17, 1926 in Salem, OH, the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Stiver) Whiteleather.

Mr. Whiteleather graduated from Salem High School in 1944. He attended Kent State University on the G.I. bill and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He worked for Mullins Mfg., Youngstown Kitchens, and Spacelinks. Donald was of the catholic faith. He served in the U.S.Army during WWII in the 67th Engineer Topical Company in the Pacific theatre. He enjoyed being a husband, father, and a proud grandfather, spending as much time as he could with his family.

He leaves his son, Mark D. (Mary Ann) Whiteleather of Boardman; daughter, Susan E.(Thomas) Watson of Warren; brother, Keith Whiteleather of Indian Lake, Fla., and 3 grandchildren, Michele Whiteleather, Thomas Watson, and Patrick Watson.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 53 years, Joan Wooke Whiteleather, and his brother, Wayne Whiteleather.

Family will receive guests on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 5:30 pm -7:30 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren. The Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation with Fr. Thomas Eisweirth of Blessed Sacrament Church officiating. Private interment will take place with full military honors at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio.
