Phyllis A. Ord

Phyllis A. Ord, 82, of Lordstown, died Monday, June 27, 2005 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born August 10, 1922 in Abbott, W. Va., the daughter of the late William and Reta (Martin) Childress, and moved to Trumbull County in 1946.

Mrs. Ord was a graduate of Buckhannon, W. Va. High School and had been a homemaker. She had been a 4-H advisor for many years and had been an archer, having won many trophies for archery.

Surviving Mrs. Ord are two children: Bill (Marie) Ord and Carol (Don) Senne, both of Lordstown; three grandchildren: Marla Senne (Andy) Res, Matthew Senne, and Christa Ord; three sisters: Frances (Bob) Kooser of Connellsville, Pa., Pauline Pritt of Aliquippa, Pa., and Janice Warren of Belleair, Fla.; two brothers: Gerald Childress of Buckhannon, W. Va. and Dale Childress of Lake St. Louis, Mo.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Ralph E. Ord, whom she married January 22, 1946 and who died January 10, 1997; a granddaughter, Lisa Ord; a sister, Betty Jarvis, and two brothers, Bill and Porter Childress.

Services for Mrs. Ord will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Mr. Tom Whitacre of Braceville Christian Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Thursday and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday. Inurnment will take place Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Lordstown Village Cemetery.
