Olga Carroline (Beck) Billsten

Warren, Ohio - Olga Caroline (Beck) (Ryant) Billsten, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 12 in Trumbull Hospital. Olga, who resided in Douglas, Ma., was in Warren visiting family.

Olga was born in Gardner, Ma. on March 6, 1932, the only child of Tyyne M. (Wirkkala) Beck and Walter J. Beck, both of whom predeceased her. She leaves two daughters, Shirley Standring (Neil) of Spencer, and Roberta McDonald (Lawrence) of Douglas; four grandchildren, Sara Beth (Standring) Courtney of Spencer; Heather (Standring) Dupont of Philadelphia; Jillian McDonald, and Daniel McDonald, both of Douglas; three great-grandchildren, and her cousin and lifelong friend Joan Anderson of Douglas. Olga was the widow of Robert C. Ryant, who died in 1970, and Robert E. Billsten, who died in 1996.

A graduate of Gardner High School, Olga also graduated from Fisher Jr. College in Boston, Ma. She worked as a secretary for more than 30 years at the former Kleven Shoe Company and the Town Broom Company both in Spencer, and Wright Line in Worcester. Olga and her husband Robert Ryant owned and operated Roboldale Dairy Farm in Spencer for many years.

Olga loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Her family will miss her very much. They would like to thank the Dudley family in Warren for their care and kindness to Olga throughout her visit.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Spencer, MA on Friday, May 28, at 11 a.m.
