Norman R. "Scotty" Leighton, 71, of Brookfield, died at home Sunday, January 27, 2008. He was born January 22, 1937 in Scotland, the son of Thomas and Margaret (McMillan) Leighton, and came to the United States as a teenager.
Scotty was a graduate of Howland High School and served in the U.S. Marines Corps. He worked as a foreman for Packard Electric, retiring in 1992 after 23 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, and traveling.
Surviving are his mother, Margaret Leighton of Ohio; two daughters, Renee Roth of Brookfield and Melissa Leighton of Olive Hill, Ky.; two grandsons, James and Richard
Roth; two granddaughters, Nicole and Brittany Roth; and a sister, Margie (John) Komlac of Ohio. His father precedes him in death.
Services are 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with an honor guard to follow. Friends may call 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, Ohio 44406.
