Cortland, OH - Norman C. Johnson, 100, of Cortland, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 1, 1911 in Niles, OH, the son of Frank E. and Minnie (Cover) Johnson.

He was a 1929 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a 1933 graduate of Dennison University.

Norm owned and operated the Norman C. Johnson Insurance Agency in Warren. He taught at Warren G. Harding High School 1934-43, worked at Packard Electric 1943-46, and Ohio Lamp 1946-51. He was a member of the Warren's First United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Warren Kiwanis, Niles Rotary Clubs, and Ohio Teachers Association. He enjoyed golf, traveling and bridge.

Surviving are daughters, Patricia Lee Stewart, of Columbus, OH and Brook (Frank) Bray of Sunriver, Oregon, grandchildren; Shana Lee Ross, Kecia Lee Annis, Heather Williams-Downing, and Chad Williams, great-grandchildren; Lindzy, Joshua, and Jamie Annis, Hayden and Corbin Downing, and Kennedi Rowlands. Norman is preceded in death by his wife, Leah "Lee" S. Johnson, whom he married August 25, 1939, and who died December 27, 2011, a sister, Roberta M. Smith, and 2 brothers; Ellis and George Johnson.

A Memorial Service was held 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Yesudas Devadan officiating of the First United Methodist Church.
