Norma Jean Rotunno, 82, of Howland, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Norma left us, but not without the final say. "To everyone, that so dearly touched my heart, thank you, and to my children and theirs, I will love you forever!" Conveyed to her daughter, Kathy, with whom she lived her last few months.

Norma resided in Howland nearly her entire life and on the same property.. She was born July 4, 1929 in Warren and was the daughter of Oren and Margaret (Kingsley) Shire. She had a dressmaking/alteration business. Norma had also worked many jobs, she enjoyed; Matina's Bridal Shop, Crites Upholstery, and Gilmore's Greenhouse.

Norma loved decorating homes including her own. She enjoyed her beautiful gardens of flowers. Vegetable gardens and canning were also a joy.

She leaves three of her four children, Sandra Rose (Udi Peled) of Oakland, CA., Kathy Muntz of Southington, and Jeffrey McDonald (Jim Sullivan) of San Francisco, CA. Her stepchildren, Anthony Rotunno (Roberta) of Meadville, PA., Theresa Voneida (James) of Kent. Her grandchildren, Carlynn Rose of Santa Barbara, CA., Shean Scott (Jonathan Osborne) of San Leandro, CA. and Zachary Muntz of Southington, Allison Voneida, and Sydney Rotunno. Her great grandchildren, Hope and Jesse Morrison of Santa Barbara, CA.

Family members that preceded her in death were her parents. Robert McDonald, her children's father and former husband; her husband Harry Rotunno; her son Robert McDonald; Son-in-law Morris Muntz and granddaughter Madison Muntz.

Family and friends will gather 5:00 till 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren. A Celebration of Norma's Life Ceremony will follow at 7:00 pm with the Rev. James Baer officiating. Family requests no flowers to be sent; instead donations could be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. S.W., Warren, Ohio 44481 or Cats Are People, Too, P.O. Box 1947, Warren, Ohio 44482, Norma's wish was for her body to be donated to the Cleveland Clinic.
