Norma Medzie

Warren, Ohio - Norma L. Medzie , age 85, passed away into eternal rest Sunday December 4, 2016 at Community Skilled Nursing Center, Warren. She was born on September 15, 1931 in Warren, the daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl Devlin Meyer. She was married to the late Michael J. Medzie who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2007.

Norma was employed by General Electric, Trumbull Lamp Div. and a longtime active member of St. Williams Parish and a graduate of St. Mary's High School.

She was a former member of the Mahoning Valley Chapter of American ex-POW Association, and member of National American ex-POW Association. She and her husband were proud lifetime members of the 381st Bomber Group USAF. Norma was a great fan of OSU football, NASCAR and loved to travel.

Memories of Norma will be carried on by stepdaughters: Donna Jean Mansell of Vienna, and Cheryl Hutchins of Champion, sisters: Helen Nolan of Warren, Wilma Wojtowicz and Patricia (Gene) Henry both of Leavittsburg, five step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and brothers: Robert, James and William Meyer, sisters: Shirley Palmer, and Mary Tombor, and stepson, Michael J. Medzie, Jr

Family will receive friends, from date Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 4:00 till 6:00pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church. Funeral Mass will be held at Wednesday, at 2:00 pm at St.William Parish, Champion with the Rev. Fr. Michael Balash officiating. Services of final committal will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio.
