Nellie M. Waddell

Nellie M. Waddell, 89, of Warren, died 7:15 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Imperial Skilled Care Center in Warren. She was born April 2, 1916 in Warren, the daughter of Paul and Rachel Laprocina Oliver, and had lived in the Warren area all her life.

Mrs. Waddell was a member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church; Morning Light Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; and Trinity Shrine. She had sung in the choirs at church and for Eastern Star. She was active at church in the quilting club and the women's circle.

She had excelled as a homemaker, and she had been self-employed as a beautician for 25 years.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Clyde C. Waddell, Sr., whom she married December 14, 1937; a son, Clyde C. (Beryl) Waddell, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas; three granddaughters: Kimberly and Bethany Waddell and Jennifer (Lee Bob) Harper; two great-grandsons, Leo and Max Harper; a sister, Kathryn Yurko of Masury; and a brother, James Oliver of Warren. Preceding her in death are her parents; a son, Paul Waddell; and two sisters, Lara Bates and Clara Ross.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2005 at Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, with Rev. Anita Rayburn officiating. Interment at Crown Hill Burial Park will follow. Friends may call at McFarland & Son Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, and at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday. An Eastern Star service will be held 5:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Avenue N.W., Warren, Ohio 44485.
