Nathaniel Louis Oliver of Youngstown formerly of Warren, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in Liberty Healthcare Center. He was 88.
Mr. Oliver was born in Harrisburg, PA on August 1, 1927, the son of the late Charles Louis and Lula Bell Cameron Oliver.
Following his high school graduation, Nathaniel went on to further his education while honorably serving his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Oliver was stationed in the Philippines following the end of World War II.
Nathaniel retired from LTV Sheet and Tube after many years of employment as a laborer. Earlier in life he served as a Warren Township Volunteer Firefighter.
He was a member of Everlife Worship in Youngstown where he served as a church deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Nathaniel was an avid supporter of Warren Western Reserve High School, where he was involved in the Booster Club and was a season ticket holder for over 20 years. In his spare time, he found enjoyment spending time in his garden, and in various forms of art, from painting to poetry.
His wife, Margaret Ann Weaver Oliver, whom he married July 31, 1948, passed away on December 18, 2009.
Nathaniel is survived by 6 grandchildren, Jacques' Peterman Oliver and his wife Lakeya Peterman, Ben Lee, Jessica Robinson, Stacia Brown and her husband Jonathan Brown, Michael Robinson and his wife Dominique, and Gabriel Robinson and his wife Britney; 6 great grandchildren, Atiim, Daiijah, Cierra, Jovan, Savon, and Aubrielle; a sister Marzee Cannon.
In addition to his parents and wife, Nathaniel was preceded in death by a son, Sylvester Oliver; a daughter, Marcella Robinson Oliver; 2 brothers Clarence and Sylvester Oliver; a sister Mary Honeywood.

Calling will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016 in the funeral home with Rev. Lois Hines.
Internment will take place in Pineview Memorial Park.
