Naomi C. Gavita

Naomi C. Gavita, 84, of Champion and formerly of Cortland, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Hospice House in Poland.

She was born Saturday, July 31, 1926 in Granite City, IL, the daughter of Harry Knight and Laura (Fitzgerald) Knight.

A homemaker, she was a member Christ Episcopal Church.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Marion) Shay of Pasadena, CA, and Lewis "Ron" (Marilyn) Shay of Cortland, OH; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry J. Gavita, whom she married January 6, 1962 and who died May 23, 1991; one great-grandchild; four sisters; and four brothers.

Services are private. Entombment will be conducted privately at Crown Hill Burial Park.
