Naomi C. Fowler, 92, of Warren, died April 4, 2007 at Shepherd of the Valley, Howland. She was born August 5, 1914 in Warren, the daughter of George W. and Minnie (Smith) Gaumer, and had lived in the Warren area her entire life.
Mrs. Fowler was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and had been a homemaker. She was a life member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church and Morning Light Chapter #80, Order of the Eastern Star, the Lotus Club, and the Ladies Masonic Chorus. An avid music lover, she belonged to the church's choir for over 70 years, and played the violin. She also enjoyed reading, golf, bowling, quilting, and family.
Surviving are two sons: James D. (Sue Ann) Fowler of Columbus, Ohio, and Clinton G. (Kathy) Fowler of Bristolville; a daughter, Sue Ellis of Lusk, Wyoming; eight grandchildren: Shaun, Eric, and Gregory Ellis, and Debra, James Jr., Scott, Ben, and Adam Fowler; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Dallas B. Fowler, whom she married August 15, 1936 and who died March 22, 1981; a sister, Marie Cope; and a brother, George W. Gaumer.
Services will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, with Rev. Anita Rayburn officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, and 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Tuesday at the church. Morning Light Chapter #80, O.E.S., will conduct a brief service at 5:45 pm Monday at the funeral home.
