Myrtle L. Horton, 77, of Warren, died Monday, November 3, 2008 at Windsor House of Champion. She was born September 7, 1931 in Marlinton, W. Va., the daughter of Irvin and Addie (Hebb) Davis.
Mrs. Horton had worked as a nurse's aide for St. Joseph Health Center. She was a member of SCOPE, and attended Warren Baptist Temple and the St. Joseph Hospital Retiree breakfasts.
Surviving are her mother, Addie Davis of Bolair, W. Va.; two daughters, Evelyn Marie Byler of Warren and Phyllis Jean Isenhart of Elkins, W. Va.; her special friend and foster daughter, Maggie Furbee of Warren; three grandchildren: Robert Byler of Kent, and Brittany Isenhart and Tiffany (Rodney) Hinehman, both of Elkins, W. Va.; three foster grandchildren: Marsha (Keith) Gregory of Warren, Tammi (Brandon) Easterston of Chardon, and Richie Furbee of Warren; two great-grandchildren, Diana and Danny Byler; eight foster great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Davis of Moorefield, W. Va. Preceding her in death are her father; her husband, Keith "Earl" Lewis Horton, whom she married June 30, 1980 and who died August 9, 1991; a brother, Luther Davis; and a sister, Jean Goff.
Services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. James Dittmar of Warren Baptist Temple officiating. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private interment will take place at Pine Knoll Cemetery at a later date.
