Cortland, Ohio - Myron "Mike" E. Bronson, age 89, died July 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born on August 23, 1927 in Phalanx Station, Ohio, the son of the late Carl and Eva Stroup Bronson.
Mike was employed by Howland Schools as a Metal Shop Teacher for 33 years retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Ohio Education Association, National Education Association and Trumbull County Retired Teachers Association.
Mr. Bronson was a graduate of the Braceville High School in 1945, served in the US 8th Air Force, held a Bachelors Degree in Science from Kent State University and a Masters Degree in Education from Westminster College.
He also worked as Vice President of Windham Gas & Oil, President of Bronson Chevrolet-Oldsmobile, Garrettsville, Vice President of Type-Rite Inc., Girard, co-owner of Bronzewood Golf Course, Kinsman and President of Copy Holder, Inc.
He was a member of Carrol F. Clapp Masonic Lodge, #655 F&AM, Bazetta Optimist Club, 1st United Methodist Church of Warren and SCOPE. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, golfing, wood working and singing in the Stephen Foster Barbershoppers and square-dancing with his late wife Twyla.
Memories of Mike will be carried on by daughter, Karen Reel of Cortland, OH, son, Myron "Ted" (Sherry) Bronson, Jr. of Warren, OH, son, David Bronson of Cortland, OH, sisters, Belva Shoff of Melbourne, FL, Velma Bowman of Warren, Violet Goff of Southington, OH, brother, James Bronson of Kinsman, OH, granddaughters; Alyxandria (Joey) Gerina and Ainsley Bronson as well as grandsons; Jeremy (Marie) Hodges, Dylan, Tyler and one great grand daughter Kara Lynn Hodges
He was preceded in death by his wife Twyla Brown Bronson, whom he married December 28, 1949 and who passed October 24, 2015. He is also preceded by his sister Evelyn Bullus of Fort Pierce, FL.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 6 -8 pm with a Masonic Service starting at 5:45 pm at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Warren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev Yesudas Devadan of the 1st United Methodist Church of Warren will officiate. Services of final committal will follow at Braceville Township Cemetery.
