Mildred E. Yohem, 89, of Warren, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at St. Joseph's Health Center. She was born June 30, 1919 in Warren, the daughter of Ralph Henry and Pearl C. (Sechler) Reiter, and had lived in the Warren area all her life.
Mrs. Yohem had worked as a builder-inspector at Packard Electric for 30 years. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she also belonged to the auxiliary at VFW #1090, and was actively involved with SCOPE.
Surviving are her daughter, Saundra P. (Carl) Coons Molnar of Whitehall, Mich.; two grandsons, Timothy L. (Robyn) Coons and Thomas L. (Kristine) Coons; a step-granddaughter, Monica (Aaron) Evans; four great-grandchildren: Kendra, Kaitlyn, Noel, and Jaeden Coons; three step-great-grandchildren: Hanna, Brett, and Maggie Evans; and her companion, Charles Petrarca of Warren. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, George W. Yohem, whom she married June 28, 1941 and who died October 28, 1982; a son-in-law, Terence L. Coons; and a sister, Arlene Trimble.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2009 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Baumgardner of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Interment at Crown Hill Burial Park will follow. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to any of the following: St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2860 E.
