Mildred M. Thompson

Mildred M. Thompson, 96, of Warren, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2007. She was born March 5, 1911 in Sugar Hill, Pa., the daughter of William and Olive (Duttry) Starr, and had lived in Trumbull County for over 70 years.

Mrs. Thompson had served with the Ladies Auxiliary for the Warren Township Fire Department, Station 2 for many years. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and crocheting.

Surviving are her children: Doris (Jack) Haynes of Vass, N.C., Donna (Paul) Schlacht of Strongsville, and Linda Thompson of Warren; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irma Little of Nanty Glo, Pa. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Arthur W. Thompson, whom she married August 30, 1947 and who died December 26, 1989; a son, Donald Starr, who died in 1981; three sisters: Dorothy, Violet, and Eva; and two brothers: Ernest and Howard.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
