Mildred G. Rorison

Mildred G. Rorison, 91, formerly of Warren, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles. She was born October 2, 1915 in New Castle, Pa., and had lived in the Warren area most of her life.

Mrs. Rorison worked in accounts payable for Packard Electric for 33 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a lifelong member of First United Church of Christ in Warren. She had traveled extensively, taking cruise trips three times a year, visiting almost every country, and had stored items she had purchased on her trips in a large China cabinet at home. She was also a strong fighter with an incredible will to live.

Surviving are her son, Wilbur C. "Sonny" Rorison, Jr. of Girard; two granddaughters: Kimberly (John) Ward of St. Augustine, Fla., and Chelsea Rorison of West Virginia; five great-grandchildren: Cooper Joseph Ward, John Michael Ward, Andrew Bryan Ward, Stephanie Rorison, and Robert J. Rorison, Jr.; a great-great-grandson, Connor Rorison; and a sister, Jane E. Hatch of Niles. Preceding her in death are her husband, Wilbur C. Rorison, Sr., whom she married November 12, 1935 and who died August 26, 2000; two grandsons: Robert J. Rorison, Sr. and David M. Rorison; and a sister, Dolores Everett.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. D. Gene Kraus of First United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ, 280 E.
