Mildred M. Hendrick, 84, of Warren, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at home, surrounded by her children. She was born February 4, 1923 in Orange, Va., the daughter of George and Bessie (Childress) Walker, and had lived in the Warren area for over 45 years.
Mrs. Hendrick had been a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was a great nurturer who enjoyed all types of flowers, and most of all enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her children: James W. (Mary Lou) Hendrick of Niles, William C. (Nancy) Hendrick of Largo, Fla., Jean (Rich) Wilkins of Bazetta, Marilyn S. (Tom) Namola of Warren, David R. (Cynthia) Hendrick of Warren, and Gary W. (Cindy L.) Hendrick of Braceville; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Curtis (Pearl) Walker of Dixie, W.Va. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Warren J. Hendrick, whom she married December 7, 1946 and who died May 31, 1983; three sisters: Ruby Rudd, Opal Sparks, and Irene Bennett; and three brothers: Carl, George, and Leonard Walker.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sager Cemetery in Bristolville. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made either to Boy Scout Troop #15, 1947 E.
