Michael J. Stack

Michael J. Stack, Sr., 64, of Warren, peacefully entered into rest on Thursday, May 26, 2005, after a battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He was born March 6, 1941 in Cleveland, the son of the late Michael and Irene Andrews Stack, and had lived in the Warren area since 1970.

Mike worked for 36 years for General Motors in Lordstown, retiring as a supervisor. He also spent 15 years as a reserve deputy for the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department, and most recently served as athletic director of Lordstown High School. He had been active as a volunteer in youth football and baseball for many years.

Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine Faulstick Stack; four children: Julie (John) Murski of New Wilmington, Pa., Michael Stack and his companion Shirley of Struthers, Susan Sekerak and her companion Chuck of Bazetta, and Daniel Stack of Cortland; five grandchildren, of whom he was so proud: Michael, Christopher, Lauren, Hillary, and Billy; brothers and sisters Mr. and Mrs. James Unfried of Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Unfried of California, Mrs. Irene Casey of Utah, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Patricia) Fillinger of Cleveland, and Mrs. Mary Ann Taczanowski of Cleveland; sister-in-law Mrs. Claire Faber of Chesterland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mike in death are his parents and two brothers, George and Robert Unfried.

Services for Mike will be 3:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Fr. Bernard Schmalzried of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM Saturday.
