Michael R. "Mick" Losen

Howland- Michael R. "Mick" Losen, 65, passed away in intensive care on Sunday, July 3, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on September 20, 1945 in Chambersburg, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Goldie (Williams) Losen.

He was a self-employed and dedicated owner of Warren Sanitary Service for over 30 years where his wife and son will continue to operate the bussiness. He was a member of the Niles McKinley Lodge #794 F. & A.M. and a graduate of Howland High School in 1963.

Mick is survived by his high school sweetheart, his wife, the former Sue R. Gilmour, whom he married on September 1, 1965; daughter, Tonya D. Losen-Shelko, son, Shawn C. Losen, three grandchildren all of Howland, and brother, Richard of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Bates, December 18, 2010.

Mick was a wonderful husband and a #1 Dad who absolutely loved to spend time with his family. In his spare time, he liked old cars, watching Nascar and golfing. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday July 8, 2011, at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Mick will be laid to rest at Howland Township Cemetery.
