Matthew L. Heckrow Jr
June 1, 1949 — October 2, 2014
Matthew L. Heckrow of Warren, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Thursday (10-2-14) in St. Joseph's Hospital with his family by his side. He was 65.
Mr. Heckrow was born June 1, 1949, in Warren, OH a son of Matthew and Jeanette Walko Heckrow Sr.
He attended Champion School System.
Matt was employed as a Field Technician at Sandy's Tire of Warren for many years. He recently retired from Champion Transport in Niles where he was a truck driver. Throughout his life Matt held jobs as a mechanic at various locations.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Heckrow was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warren. He enjoyed fishing, decorating his home for all of the major holidays, was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan, and was very patriotic. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Matt is survived by, his companion of 39 years Betty Ann Pauley with whom they made their home together; 4 daughters, Jenny (George) Blake of Phoenix, AZ, Julia Heckrow of Warren, Yonna Heckrow of Warren, Michelle Barrass (Steve) of Warren; a son, Keith Pauley (Michelle) of Warren; 2 sisters, Diana Spagnoletta (Arthur) of Brookfield, Patricia Hubbard of Germany; 3 brothers, Michael Fanto (Linda) of Niles, Ron Heckrow of Tennessee, and Harry Heckrow of Texas; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his godmother Julia Pater and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition his parents, Matt was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Jeanette Heckrow, Betty Devlin, and Catherine Phillips; a brother, Robert Heckrow; his godfather, John Pater.
