Mary E. "Tina" Smith, 56, of Leavittsburg, died Thursday, July 7, 2005 at St. Joseph's Health Center. She was born June 15, 1949 in Warren, the daughter of the late Milton E. and Mary E. Heiney Garrison, and had lived in the Warren area all her life.

Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School and attended cosmetology school. She had worked as a clothes presser at Master LaFrance Cleaners. She attended church at the Jenkins Memorial Church of God in Christ. She and husband Jim had been foster parents through the Trumbull County Children's Services Board for many years.

She enjoyed collecting clowns, singing gospel songs, and was active with her children's baseball, softball, football, and dance recitals. She was a one-of-a-kind who would do anything for you.

Surviving are her husband, Rev. James L. Smith, whom she married May 9, 1977; a son, Franklin J. Smith; a daughter, Connie R. Smith; a great-niece, Shianne Copeland; a sister, Charlotte Garrison of Warren; three brothers: James (Loretta) Garrison of Florida, John Garrison of Warren, and Eddie (Holly) Garrison of Virginia; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and their families.

Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Levi Elzy and Rev. Jim Simone officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday.
