Mary Elise Sauer

WARREN - Mary Elise Sauer, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, June 20, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1927 in Warren, the daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Ryan) Sauer.

Mary Elise was a 1945 graduate of Warren G. Harding then earned a Bachelor degree in Education from Ohio State University in 1949. She taught Special Education in the Warren City Schools for most of her 30 year career. She also taught in San Bernardino, California and Norwalk, OH. She traveled extensively with her parents and was a loyal Ohio State Football fan.

For many years Mary Elise volunteered for "Contact", referring people with personal problems to the appropriate agency for help. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, crossword puzzles, TNT productions, and was an avid reader. Mary Elise was Catholic and attended mass at St. James and St. Mary's Churches and the Chapel at St. Joseph Hospital.

Memories of Mary will be carried on by her brothers, Robert Sauer of Warren and William (Dorothy) Sauer of West Farmington, many nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews plus many friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry "Pete" Sauer, Jr.
