Grace Matyas, 74, of Howland, died peacefully at 2:45 AM Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born February 2, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., the oldest of nine children born to the late Charles S. and Rose Marie Spinella Dann, and had lived in the Warren area most of her life.
Grace was a loving grandmother and homemaker. She was very fond of the Humane Society, cooking, knitting, reading, drawing, and playing bingo.
Grace leaves behind her husband, John Abraham Lincoln Matyas, whom she married May 21, 1955. Together they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by two daughters, Stephanie Iacozili of Warren and Jacquelyn (Ernie) Danner of Houston, Tex.; three grandchildren: Gina Iacozili, Wesley and Stephanie Danner; four sisters: Joanna Fittipaldo, Rose Matela, and Anita Wilson, all of Howland, and Kathy (Bruce) Heinzman of Warren; and three brothers: Charles "Buddy" (Lou) Dann of Washington state, John "Sonny" (Mary Jane) Dann of Champion, and Sam (Patti) Dann of Howland.
Preceding her in death are her parents and a brother, James Dann.
A memorial service wil be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 10, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Calvin King officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday. Material contributions may be made to the Humane Soeciety, 409 Harmon N.W., P.O. Box 610, Warren, Ohio 44482.
