Mary M. King, 91, of Warren, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Warren. She was born April 1, 1917 in New Philadelphia, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Pope) Marcu, and had lived in the Warren area for nearly 50 years, coming from Gustavus.
Mrs. King had cleaned homes and businesses for many years. She enjoyed bingo, shopping, animals, houseplants, travel, and most of all, her family.
Surviving are her son, William H. (Barbara) Holk, Jr. of Southington; her daughter, Shirley (Thomas) Flowers of Warren; five grandchildren: William (Heidi) Holk III, Bryon (Sherry) Holk, Brad Holk, Lori (James) Levy, and April (Kevin) Pounds; and ten great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, William H. Holk, Sr., whom she married in 1938 and who died May, 1944; her husband, John L. King, whom she married April, 1999 and who died July 24, 2002; and a brother, John Strauss.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Rusty Cowden of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Brook Memorial Park in Champion. Friends may call 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
