Mary "Mitzi" Kallio

Warren - Mary A. "Mitzi" Kallio, 91, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Joseph's Health Center Warren. She was born on February 19, 1924 in Kent, Ohio, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Seatovich Horvath.

Mitzi was a National Honor Society member at Kent Roosevelt High School and the Moose Lodge, and Croatian Fraternal Union. She enjoyed bowling, bingo playing cards and casinos. Mary was employed by Club 2357 as a bartender.

Memories of Mitzi will be carried on by her sons, Peter "Pete" R. (Patricia) Nelman of Warren, OH, and Tommy D. Nelman of Brookfield, OH, daughter, Kimberly K. Kallio of Warren, OH, sister, Helen Bierfeldt of Salimanica, NY, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin R. Kallio, whom she married December 13, 1957 and who died November 24, 1997, daughter, Nancy Surverison, sister, Margaret Perkowski, and granddaughter, Tina Flask.

Mitzi's family will receive friends Monday, March 16, 2015 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home , Warren and one hour prior to the
11:00 am service on Tuesday with Rev. Fr. Bernard Schmalzried officiating of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Services of final committal will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
