Mary Lou Johnson, 73, of Champion, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 30, 1936 in Falls Mills, W. Va., the daughter of Forrest and Gladys (Bosley) Ancell.
She graduated from high school in West Virginia and retired from Delphi in 2001, where she had worked as a quality control inspector for 43 years. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, and especially her grandchildren. She was known as a great conversationalist who loved to talk with her people on most any topic.
She is survived by her children Grant Shields of Warren, Linda Shields of Cortland, Donna (Kevin) Farr of Warren, Connie (Randy) Jobes of Leavittsburg, and David Shields of Cortland, as well as grandchildren Jennifer and Michael Farr, Maggie Bobak, Austin Shields, and Christopher Curry, and great granddaughter Abby Bobak.
She also leaves a sister Audrey Stalnaker of West Virginia, and brothers Dale Ancell of West Virginia, Glenn Ancell of Maryland, and Jack (Christine) Ancell of Virginia. Her brother Frank Ancell precedes her in death.
