WARREN - Mary Brown, a 60-year resident of Warren, passed away on Feb. 21, 2014, at Madison House in London, Ohio.
She was born Mary Elizabeth Longfellow on Aug. 1, 1916, in Chester, W.Va. She was raised in Midland, Pa.
Mrs. Brown was trained as a teacher. She was a civilian employee of the Army Air Corps during World War II at Wright-Patterson Field in Dayton. After the war, she went to work for the city of Dayton, where she met her husband. With her husband, she moved to Warren in 1952, where both her sons were born.
She lived in Warren until moving to Madison House in order to be closer to her son, Paul. She was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church of Warren.
She is survived by her sons, Paul William of Mount Sterling and John Howard of Statesboro, Ga.; one grandson, Paul Joseph, and two great-grandsons, Joseph Bryan (Bryan) and William Graham (Will), who also reside in Statesboro; one sister, Martha Whited of Beaver Creek; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Howard Graham Brown.
She loved her family deeply and her affection was reciprocated.
The family will hold a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
