CHAMPION - Mary E. Banks, 91, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at her home. She was born on December 24, 1922 in Warren, the daughter of the late Russel and Agnes (Klingemier) Banks.

Mary was a graduate of Champion High School and attended Hiram College. She was Vice President of the Trust Dept of Union Savings and Trust Co., and retired from Bank One. She was a longtime active member of Central Christian Church where she served on many committees, sang in the choir, and was honored as a Trustee Emeritus.

She was a life member and served on the board of the Trumbull County Historical Society for many years. She was proud of her Champion heritage and was honored as "Person of the Year" by the Champion Historical Society. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women's Assoc.

She was known as "Aunt Mary" to many throughout the area and her family would like to thank all her caregivers for their love and kindness and who will miss her too. Mary was a lovely, kind, and sweet person loved by all who knew her.

Memories of Mary will be carried on by sister, Dorothy Robinson of Bluffton, OH; nieces, Marcia (Seldon) Plumley of Richmond, VA, Janice (Robert) Whaley of Fairport, NY, Mary Lou (Jerry) Mejeur of Marion, OH, Nancy (Roger) Rhodes of Bluffton, OH; nephews, John (Pamela) Banks and Russell (Karen) Banks, both of Champion, Dan (YiMi) Robinson of Ann Arbor, MI, and Mark (Nan) Robinson of Brighton, MI.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles R. Banks who passed away in 2013.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 am at Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St. in Warren. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service with Rev. Cynthia Klingemier officiating. Private committal and inurnment service will be held at Champion Township Cemetery.
