Martha Belle Trice

Martha Belle Wilson Trice "Granny", 91, of Warren, passed away in her sleep Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Autumn Hills Nursing Home in Niles. She was born in Philadelphia PA, daughter of the late Mose and Rita Mae Wilson. At the age of seven her family moved to Warren, OH.

She married the love on her life Harold Jackson Trice, Sr, April 23, 1937, and they were happily married for over 50 years, the majority of the time spent in the "Francis Street" residence, built for Martha by Harold, Sr. Martha was a lifetime member of Grace A.M. E. Church, where she was a founding member of Stewardess Board #1. She was an avid reader, and traveling to visit family and friends was her passion. She enjoyed many lasting relationships with friends and co-workers, "Granny" never met a stranger, and she always made sure to renew old acquaintances. She and Harold were founding members of the "Gamma Phi" social club, where they enjoyed cards, games, and lifelong friendships.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Harold, her beloved daughter Constance Trice Brown, her brother William "Bubba" Wilson, and her son-in-law Curtis Johnson. May your long awaited reunions be joyful.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Harold "Teddy" Trice, Jr., and his wife, Ada, of Warren, OH, her daughter Janet Johnson of Gilbert, AZ, and her sister Carrie Lunceford of Warren, OH; eight grandchildren and 12 great "grands"; Diana Paige and husband, Joel, Sr., their children: Joel "Timmy", Jr. and Gabrielle., of Columbus, Ohio. Debra Hines and husband, Robert, of Warren, OH, Debra's children: Janelle, Aramys, and Jan, Jr.; Denise Smith and husband Michael of Columbus, Ohio, Aaron Jackson Morris and wife, Carmen, and their children: Ajay and Arryanna of AZ, Harold Jackson Trice III and wife, Monica, Angela Braeton and husband, John of AZ, Martha Brogden and husband, Maurice, their children: Morgan and Mason of MD, and Cherise Coles and husband, Terrence, and their children: Allexandria and T. Harold of PA. Also mourning her loss are 3 great-great "grands" and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Grace A.M.E. Church, 1137 Main Ave. S.W., Warren, Ohio 44485, with Rev. Gena Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Material contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 N.
