Irene Thompson, 87, of Howland, died 10:58 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital-Forum Health in Warren. She was born Tuesday, November 13, 1917, in Sharon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lewis and Anna K. Turner Thompson.
Mrs. Thompson was a 1936 graduate of Sharon, Pa. High School. She had been a homemaker. She was a member of Howland Community Church and O.E.S. Opal Chapter #181 in Cortland. She enjoyed bowling and crafts.
Surviving Mrs. Thompson are her husband, Nellis Thompson, whom she married October 1, 1940; a son, Richard N. (Vicki) Thompson of Boardman; two granddaughters, Stacey (Cameron) Pease of Middletown, Ohio and Suzanne (Robert) Maddock of Valencia, Calif.; and two great-granddaughters, Makaly and Coryn Pease.
Preceding Mrs. Thompson in death are her parents; a sister, Edna Perry; and three brothers: Earl, George, and Clarence Thompson.
Services for Mrs. Thompson are 11:30 AM Saturday, January 29, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Ash Welch of Boardman United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and 10:30 to 11:30 AM Saturday. Material contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 270 Franklin S.E., Warren, Ohio 44483.
