Martha Jane Crum

Martha Jane Crum, 91, of Boardman and formerly of Niles, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She was born October 17, 1919 in Warren, the daughter of Perry W. and Bess (Dunbar) Kingdom, and had lived in Trumbull and Mahoning counties all her life.

A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mrs. Crum attended the Dana School of Music and Kent State University. She was the Past Noble Grand of Warren Rebekah Lodge #453; a fifty year-plus member and Past Matron of Ida McKinley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; a thirty-five year member and Past High Chosen One of Ali Baba Cauldron; a member and Past W.H. Priestess of Trinity Shrine #42, O.W.S.J.; a member of Mary Chesney Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; a member of Canfield Christian Church, and a former member of Central Christian Church in Warren and Howland Community Church.

She is survived by many friends who cherish her memory and her contributions to our communities. Preceding her in death are her husband, Herman E. Crum, whom she married April 9, 1960 and who died May 10, 1991 and a sister, Mildred Kingdom, beloved teacher at Elm Road School in Warren.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Philip Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Niles City Cemetery. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by the Opal Chapter #181 Order of the Eastern Star at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
