Martha Wade Banks

Martha Elizabeth Wade Banks, age 71, of Howland Township, died Saturday morning at the Autumn Hills Care Center, Niles. She was born August 24, 1932 the daughter of the late John Ralph & Martha (Schaefer) Wade in Canton, Ohio.

Mrs. Banks was a graduate of Harcum Junior College in Medical Pathology and interned as a pathology assistant at Aultman Hospital in Canton. She then worked at the Physicians and Surgeons Laboratory as a Lab Tech.

She was Director of the Trumbull County Branch of the American Heart Assoc and known throughout the community for chairing numerous Heart Assoc. Balls, and Fund Drives. She was Asst. Director of Environmental Services at Trumbull Memorial Hospital until semi retiring as a Staffing Coordinator. She was best known for her showing & training of Dalmatians where she received many awards locally, regionally and nationally.

She leaves her husband James Banks of Howland Twp. whom she married November 1955, daughter, Marcia Banks Christy of Warren and son John (Sherlynn) Banks of Seneca, SC, five grandchildren Jessica (Doug) Hipple, Catherine Rodgers, Brooke, Lindsay, and Kimberly Banks. step grandson, Brandon, step great granddaughter Jessica Hipple, and sister, Jane (Richard) Barelli of Carmel, CA.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marcia Coyle and sister, Charlotte Fisher.

A memorial services will be held at The McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 7:00 PM. where The Rev. Fr. Robert M. Lindberg of the Christ Episcopal Church will officiate. Friends and family may call from 5-7 PM prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
