Marlow C. Percich

Marlow C. Percich, 79, of Warren, passed away after a brief and sudden illness on October 16, 2008. He was born January 15, 1929 and was the son of the late Benjamin and Josephine (Bardy) Percich.

Before graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1948, Marlow served for two years in the United States Army and received the Army of Occupation Medal for Japan and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was a lifetime area resident and was employed by Republic Steel as a Boilermaker for thirty-nine years before retiring. Mr. Percich also owned and operated both the Maplewood Tavern and Marlow's Lounge. While in high school he participated in basketball and football and went All-City in both. He was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church here in Warren. He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his grandchildren. He was loved by his family and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his two daughters, Margo (Bill) Cupples of Warren and Megan (Jim) Luoma of Kinsman; his four grandchildren, Zachary Cupples and Darren, Evan and Kristen Luoma and a brother Robert Percich of Braceville. He is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday October 20, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave, Warren, OH 44481. Military Honors will follow. A private committal service will take place at a later date. Material contributions may be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514.
