Mark E. Kassay

Mark E. Kassay, 52, of Ashtabula, formerly of Cortland, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at home. He was born September 1, 1959, the son of Edward and Carol Kassay, and lived his entire life in the Trumbull and Ashtabula County areas.

Mark was a 1977 graduate of Lakeview High School in Cortland, Ohio. A good-natured and generous man, Mark enjoyed spending his time with family and close friends, and participating in various outdoor activities. He particularly liked camping, fishing, and enjoyed going to Mosquito Lake and Nelson Ledges for camping trips. In his younger years, he enjoyed working outdoors and often helped his father to get various properties into shape.

Surviving are his parents, Edward and Carol (Overmier) Kassay of Howland, his sister, Krystal (Dale) Slivka, a niece, Rebecca, and a nephew, Ryan both of Massillon, OH.

Cremation is taking place. Friends may call on Friday December 30, 2011 from 1PM to 2PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 2PM at McFarland & Son Funeral Home.
