Margarita C. Estapia

Margarita Estapia, 78, of Warren, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at St. Joseph Health Center. She was born October 16, 1933 in Leyte Province, Philippines, the daughter of Fernando and Juliana (Candela) Costiniano, and had lived in the United States since 1994, becoming a U.S. citizen in 1999.

A strong, loving, giving, funny woman, Mrs. Estapia taught at Torres High School in the Philippines. She enjoyed cleaning and reading.

Surviving are four children: Gertrudes (Kenneth) Bader of Middlefield, Enrico (Adelina), Danilo (Fe), and Dennis Estapia, all of the Philippines; two granddaughters: Mailene (Patrick) Glaspell of Warren Township and Ida L. (Chuck) Seckler of Youngstown; seven other grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, Chelsea L. Glaspell; ten other great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Doug, for whom she provided home care for many years. Preceding her in death are her husband, Beato Estapia, Sr.; three daughters: Rebecca, Evelyn, and Myrna Estapia; two sons: Beato, Jr. and Edgar Estapia; and nine brothers and sisters.

Viewing and services are private, with cremation to follow. Her urn will be laid to rest in the Philippines.
