Margaret E. Wager

February 9, 1945 — March 11, 2013

Margaret (Marge in Charge) Elizabeth Wager, 69, passed away March 11, 2013 of cholangiocarconima.

Marge was born February 9, 1945 in Chevy Chase, Washington, DC the daughter of David and Elizabeth (Mason) Wager. She also considered Anne and Norman Stroup her loving parents, all of whom are deceased.

Marge retired from the Bloomfield Mespo Schools after 35 years of service as an educator. Marge touched the lives of endless students both in the classroom and after they graduated. She believed in the goals and dreams of her students and motivated them to fruition. Although retired she still loved to discuss current and past educational and political issues.

Marge was a volleyball official with the Trumbull County Volleyball Officials Association for over thirty years. She was a proud member of the Bloomfield Alumni Association where she would visit past high school students in college and take them out to eat and discuss with them how they were doing.

Marge lived each day to the fullest, never wanting to miss a new opportunity for adventure and knowledge. She traveled the United States, Europe and the Caribbean whenever she could. Marge was Transportation Chairman of the local LPGA Classic and looked forward to course evacuations every tournament. She was an avid golfer and loved to sail.

Marge is survived by her loving companion; Mary Jane Stroup, and her faithful (though stubborn) Irish Setter Reilly. She also leaves behind a sister, Kaye (Everett) Johns of Tennessee and a brother, Mason of Maryland, and countless loving friends.

Services and burial will be Saturday, March 16th at the Howland Township Cemetery at noon. The family will receive friends at her home from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday for a Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, Marge wishes that you take the time to "pay it forward" to a stranger, a neighbor, or a friend through a random act of kindness. In closing, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
