Margaret Frances Pallante of Nancy St., Niles, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 1: 40 p.m. in Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home following a short illness. She was 92.
Margaret was born May 12, 1923 in Warren, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucia Clemente Pallante.
Miss Pallante was a 1941 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. As a lifelong resident of the Niles, she dedicated her life to the service of her family, friends, and community. Although she prepared to go to college, she entered the work force as part of the women's movement during World War II. Her contributions began as a secretary at the Trumbull County Court House and culminated with her service as the first female County Clerk in the State of Ohio. She served the county from 1945 to 1980 when she retired. She continued her life of service as a volunteer library aide at both St. Stephen School and Washington Elementary in Niles.
She exemplified the characteristics that allowed her family to succeed-- intelligence, determination, and ambition-- all balanced by compassion and a sense of personal and social responsibility. The three loves of her life were her faith, family, and beloved dogs.
She is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews through four generations, all of whom will miss her intensely.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by nine siblings, J. Joseph, Mary Bernard, John, Ann Marinelli, Larry, Ralph, Robert, Paul, and Donald.
