Margaret M. Louis

WARREN - Margaret M. Louis, passed away on September 12, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Helen (Clark) Louis.

Margaret was a graduate of St. Augustine Academy, Lakewood; Bowling Green State University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and of the Katharine Gibbs School, New York City, her career varied. Miss Louis first worked for the feature service division (NEA) of Scripps Howard Newspapers in Cleveland. She then moved to Washington, D.C. and joined the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. Her next move was to the New York City to work for Radio Free Europe. She then retuned to Washington where she was on the staff of the U.S. Representative Emanuel Celler of NY. Congressman Celler served 50 years in the House of Representatives, 22 of them as Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary. He was dean of the House. She finished her career at the U.S. Department of the State, first in the office of Protocol and then in the Bureau of European Affairs. She retired and returned to Cleveland in 1987, and in 1999 Miss Louis relocated to Warren. She was a journalism major who loved to read, and also devoted considerable time to doing stock market research.

Miss Louis is survived by her nephews, Mark E. (Susan) Louis of Golden, CO; Matthew H. (Gail) Louis of Warren; nieces, Claudia Louis (Sheldon Roseman) of Washington, DC, Cynthia L. Mohler of Columbus, and, Melissa L. (Angelo) Caputo of Copiague, NY.

Preceding her in death was her brother, E. James Louis; and niece, Laura J. Louis.

A Funeral Mass will be held on September 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren with Fr. Thomas McCarthy officiating. A committal service will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, in their chapel.
