Margaret H. Crouse

Margaret "Sue" Louise (Hoppe) Crouse, 83, passed away at 9:30 PM, on Monday, April 3, 2006 at Park Vista Retirement Community in Youngstown,OH.
She was born on March 31, 1923, in Warren, OH, the daughter of Henry H. and Helen (Flanagan) Hoppe.
Mrs. Crouse graduated from Warren G. Harding, Class of 1940, the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering, and worked as a chemist at Copperweld Steel during World War II.

Sue was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Vienna, OH, and an active volunteer at Sts. Peter & Paul School for many years. She was a member and Past President of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, American Association of University Women, and a Red Cross volunteer working the Red Cross Blood Drives and Services to Military Families.
She enjoyed cooking and used to cook on Elaine Mettee's program on Channel 33, and has had her recipes published.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Charles B. Crouse, Jr. of Youngstown, whom she married August 28, 1948, daughters; Kelley Spear of Hudson, OH , Gail Hawkins of Colorado Springs, CO, Anita Stocz of Cortland, OH, sons; Alfred Crouse of Cortland, OH, Daniel H. Crouse of Warren, OH, Ralph W. Crouse of El Paso, TX, Robert R."Pete" Crouse of Cortland, OH, and Henry H. Crouse of Warren, OH, sisters; O'Ine O'Brien of Columbiana, OH, Helen Smith of Richmond, VA, Rita Darling of Silver Springs, MD, brother, Dominic Hoppe of Oakland, NJ, 12 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles B. Crouse, III and one brother Henry Hoppe.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on Saturday, April 8, 2006, at 10:00 AM with Father John F. Warner and Rev. Fr. Msgr. Robert Siffrin officiating. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta Twp., OH.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2006 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Friday at Park Vista Retirement Community, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44504, with Rev. Alan Hutchinson andRev. Fr. Msgr. Robert Siffrin officiating.
