CORTLAND - Margaret B. Carver, 97, died on October 11, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 22, 1917 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Walter W. and Mary (Goodwin) Brett.
The family called Margaret their little energizer bunny because she kept going right up until her death. Margaret enjoyed time with her family and friends. She was a long-time member of Lakewood Christian Church and recently joined First Presbyterian Church of Warren. She retired from AT&T where she worked as a secretary for 50 years. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, cheering on the Browns, Indians and Cavaliers along with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Margaret had the distinction of being a founding resident of Lake Vista of Cortland and enjoyed being a member of their Book Club as well as a volunteer librarian. She loved her Lake Vista family. She also volunteered at a Cleveland Hospital and food pantry for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Chuck) Adams; granddaughters, Karen (Jim) Scher, Carolyn (Steven) Hall; great-grandchildren, Adam Scher, Zachary Scher, Meghan Hall, and Brendan Hall. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Brett; and sister-in-law, Monica Brett.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 5 to 7:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, Warren with Rev. Rusty Cowden officiating. Cremation has taken place and final committal with be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted.
