Margaret "Margie" A. Baker

March 6, 1930 — August 31, 2012

Margaret (Margie) A. Baker, 82, was called to be with the Lord, entering into eternal rest on August 31, 2012 at the Liberty Health Care Center in Liberty Township, Ohio, following a stroke.

Margie was born on March 6, 1930 in Youngstown and made her home in Warren. After graduating from Harding High School, she met the love of her life, Warren A. Baker of Cameron, WV and they were married on June 30, 1951 whereupon they made their home in Champion, Ohio.

She was employed at several different stores and spent over 20 years cooking for the little ones at Champion Day School. But, she best loved her role as wife, mother and homemaker. Margie was extremely social and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, shopping, helping her family and church members. She also enjoyed planting flowers and loved singing, music and dancing.

Margie was a member of the Bristolville Church of the Brethren and was active in the choir and Ladies Aid Society. She faithfully attended services and Sunday school until her health declined.

Sadly, her husband, Warren, passed away on October 27, 1998 after 47 years of marriage. She leaves behind her son, Thomas R. (Greta) of Howland and daughter, Sherry J. (Matthew) Brewer of Port Orange, Florida, along with her beloved grandchildren Alina J. and Andrew G. of Howland. She also leaves behind many loved extended family members and friends, including her sister, MaryAnn Copenhaver of Champion, Ohio.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margie was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Werner, brother, Paul (Pete) Bokan and infant grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, September 4 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday at the Bristolville Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Fred Keener officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Brook Memorial Park. After the interment, friends are welcome back to the Bristolville Church of the Brethren for a fine meal and warm fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, one of Margie's last requests was that any material tributes be for the Bristolville Church of the Brethren Building Fund, 6410 Thompson Clark Rd., Bristolville, Ohio 44402.

Arrangements are entrusted to McFarland & Son Funeral Services Company, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481. Please visit www.mcfarlandcares.com to view this obituary and send condolences.
