Majorie J. Ely

WARREN - Marjorie J. Ely, 84, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Windsor House of Champion. She was born on March 24, 1930 in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Mark Dougherty and Sarah (Bails) Dougherty-Lathem.

Marjorie was formerly of Wintersville, OH before moving to Warren in 1998, making this area her final home. She was a member of the Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling on her afternoon league. She especially loved being a homemaker, loving wife and mother for her family.

Memories of Marjorie will be carried on by daughter, Dianna Lynn Clifton of Warren; daughter, Sandra K. (Sam) Seper of Warren; daughter, Sharon Ann (Dan) Sparks of Burton, MI; grandsons, Gary and Randy McAvoy, David Gross, Stephen and Scott Seper; great-grandsons, Dylan McAvoy, David and Carson Gross; brother, Charles R. Lathem of Toronto, OH; brother, Tommy Dougherty of Wintersville, OH; and sister, Jane Dawson of Toronto, OH.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Dougherty; mother, Sarah Dougherty-Lathem; husband, Charles Ely, whom she married March 8, 1945 and preceded her on August 22, 1992; grandsons, Daniel Gross, Bryan McAvoy; sisters, Betty Moorehead, and Edna Robinson.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 11:00 am till 12:30 pm at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, 801 Canton Rd, Wintersville, OH. Services of final committal will follow at 12:30 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff and owners of Windsor House and Champion Estates Assisted Living for the care and assistance they provided to their mother.
