Mabel Morgan Stoddard, 97, of Warren, died 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at St. Joseph Health Center. She was born January 20, 1909 in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of David Leonard and Margaret Hurn Morgan.
Mabel was a graduate of Towson State College in Maryland. She had been an elementary school teacher in the Leavittsburg schools for many years. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, a volunteer with Mobile Meals for over 20 years, and a volunteer with local nursing homes. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by three nieces: Mary Lou Larson, Eleanor Finta, and Kay Kerr; one nephew, Walter Stoddard; and a special friend, Jenny Clark. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, George Stoddard, whom she married June 4, 1934 and who died in 1974; two sisters: Lillian Biddle and Alice Kephart; and a niece, Margaret Fleming.
A prayer service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in the chapel of Christ Episcopal Church, with inurnment in the Christ Episcopal columbarium to follow. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2006 in the church chapel, with Rev. Donna L. Maree officiating. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 AM on April 22 in the church narthex. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483.
